Anticipation!

I spent today taking care of last minute tasks before I start hiking tomorrow. My favorite task was picking up my thru hiker tag at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in Harpers Ferry, WV. Every year the tags are a color that are unique to that year. The 2024 color is yellow! It feels like it was meant to be my year. 😀

I also picked up some hiking food, fuel for my cook stove (can’t carry it in the plane), and I mailed a package back to Texas of things I decided I didn’t want to carry. I also broke down each piece of my gear and made sure I remembered how it worked (I didn’t have time to practice before I left Texas and it has been awhile since I hiked/camped). I made sure all my technology is charged and I posted my blog. All I have left to do is get a good nights sleep and appreciate having a mattress and pillow!
