We gloriously did nothing! Anisse rented us a 2 bedroom house with a lovely deck. Nicely outfitted; it had everything we needed. Saturday it rained all day and we had a pajama day. We watched movies, ordered food delivery, and read books. I also took a nap.
Sunday we went out to brunch at the diner where I waited on Friday for the girls. We made a wine and pasta run in the evening and just hung out together. Talking. Reading. Watching TV. In my case also napping.
It was just so nice to be with my girls with no agenda and no commitments. Truly the nicest Mother’s Day gift ever – their time. when my girls were little, I used to say I was trying to raise adults that I would want to vacation with (yes I know I’m ending a sentence with a preposition Michael David Davis, but I’m too tired to think how to rephrase it). I’m so happy to say I was successful.
It was a wonderful weekend and I can’t think my girls enough for taking 4 days out of their busy lives to come see me and for being so supportive of this adventure.
